Many Civilizations have been flourished at different Age With the every progressive creativity of human being. With the passes of Time they have been won away or ruined. On the ruins new civilization have been built with up to date knowledge and technology. But those worn away structures or ruins of the civilizations are the evidence of our glorious past and ever flourishing creativity of human being.They are our Heritage. UNESCO,a concern of the United Nations,has been entrusted with the responsibility to identify such Structures or Sites enriched With historical past,to declare them as World Heritage site and to preserve them from further decay.The Shat Gambuj Mosque situated in the District of Bagerhat of our Country is such a great structure of our glorious past.It is the symbol of Maghol architecture constructed in the Mid of Fifteenth Century.(( It is mostly believed and true also that then Ruler was Peer Khanjahan Ali then (kholifatabad) blessed 'Bagerhat' till now by the Spiritual power or of Peer Khan jahan Ali)) This grand building is a Wonder to the people that how it was possible to build at that time with so little Technological Support. The founder of this Mosque is a great philanthropic works.This Mosque has 77 Domes(Gambuj) including 7 four sided domes.It has Sixty pillars that support the domes.Though the name of the Mosque is related to the domes(Gambuj), actually it indicates the Number of Pillars. The Mosque has twenty-five Doors in total.eleven Doors at the eastern side as entrance and 7 each at the Northern and Southern sides for ventilation and Light. The walls of the Mosque present a plain show of architecture but the Western inside wall is decorated beautifully with Tetra cotta Flower and foliage. This Mughol style Mosque really deserves the Recognition. Now we must hope or expect that UNESCO would take immediate pragmatic measure to preserve it from further decay...

****I am lucky enough and blessed too to belong such a District like Bagerhat, as this is a unique district 'Bagerhat' deserves or belongs two World Recognized Heritage Sites Like. ''.Shat Gambuj Mosque''and another One 'The Suderbans '(the second largest Sea-port of our Country named, Mongla Port is in our dist.) and also adorned with Numerous ancient Mosques 'and some most attractive huge Tanks or (Digi)...Really it a Unique District of Bangladesh, my Loving Bagerhat...
