***How many Tigers are there in Sundarban 2020?
As per the 2019--20 Census by the West Bengal's Forest Department, the number of Royal Bengal's Tigers in the has climbed to 96, up by Eight from last --year. The census was conducted between November, 2019 and January 2020.
*** Why Sundarbans is called Mangrove Forest...?
The name Sundarbans is thought to be derived from Sundari -, the name of the large Mangrove trees that are most plentiful in the area.
The forestland transmissions into a low - lying Mangrove swamp approaching the coast, which itself consists of sand dunes and Mud flats.
