Kazi Nazrul Islam..The National Poet of Bangladesh..


 Kazi Nazrul Islam/National Poet Of       Bangldesh...


Kazi Nazrul Islam was a musician, Poet,writer, Singer,Journalist, music composer and written numerous Islamic Sanghit  composer and so on. In a word, Nazul was a versatile talented Personalinality. He has composed 4000 Songs which are still popular till now.In 1922 Nazrul composed 'Bidrohi kobita' at that time he earned huge popularity as a Revolutionary poet.


However,Kazi Nazrul Islam was born on May 24  in1899 in the village of Churulia in Burdwan,West Bengal, India.He was regarded as a 'Dukhu Mia' as his childhood was full of miseries or extreme poverty as he lost his father at the age of Nine/9. His father name is Kazi Fakir Ahmed and mother's name is Jaheda Khatun. He was the second son of three sons and a daughter.At the age 10 he started working at local Mosque as a Muajjin.He completed his fist phase of  education at Maktab, after completion his Junior high school education in that Maktab and joined as a teacher Junior high school.


After some months, he went to study at Searsole  Raj High School at Ranigonj..after that he also got admitted himself at Mathroon English High School but want of money he left that School. Then he started job at Bread shop at Asansole.There hè preached revolution through his various works including 'the Rebel of Bidrohi'

He worked as a journalist in Kolkata after serving in the Army and made veiled attacks on the British Raj through his publications. He contributed a lot both Bangla and India through his dynamic and revolutionary  Writings.


His nick name is 'Rebel poet'  he was the first man to make poems talking about intense Spiritual rebellion against Fascism and oppressions. 

HE is the NATIONAL POET OF Bangladesh.

BANGABANDHU took him with the great reverence ( Nazrul) in 1972...IN BANGLADESH. 

He and his family members (including his wife Pramila  Devi )started living in Dhaka till before his death on August 29, 1976. 

Nazrul was inspired by the Persian Poet Hafez and Khaiyam and Rabindranath Tagore to write Poems.


As a singer he started Singing at Kolkata Radio Station in 1938.After that gradually he began to suffer memory and voice loss in 1942,which greatly affected his health

His language skill was Bengali, Urdo, Persian and  Arabic.

He Joined the Army in 1917,he started his carrier in Karachi.Then he came back to Kolkata and started publishing his writings in various News papers.


Citizenship: British India( 1899--1947) and Indian Bangladeshi- (1947-1976).

He was  eternally buried on August 29,1976 at the Central Mosque premises of Dhaka University.
